I second the Eichmans. I'm a bit of a minimalist and these fit that bill. If you're looking for audio jewelry, the Eichmans are not for you! I tried the WBT clone locking Daytons and they're ok. With .......

I've made several pairs of JR's twisted recipe without valve stem packing and a braided shield.....I don't hear "breaker breaker", but is there anything else to consider? .......

I messed one up on my first go-around soldering without using an old unit as a heat sink and melted the plastic body. Once I used an old "heat sink" ...no more problems. Yes, IMHO, Eichman bullets mad .......

A great way to degauss a TV screen is to run some current through a COILED wire and approach the screen......if this is done the picture will "distort". Do you want to do this with your sound? Bad ide .......

FWIW in my system I made em first using the Dayton WBC locking clone plug on each end....then later on, re-terminated them w/ Eichman,s (their basic CU one) and noticed a change in sound immediately. .......

I've tried the Dayton's and they're sorta OK, but the Eichman's (don't lock) gave me the best bang for the buck. If you go the Daytons, there's no hole to solder in for the groung barrell....had to he .......

I had Linn K-400's actively biamped to my Linn Tukans and made cc89259s.....within a week I put my LK400's up for sale on Audiogon and had a ton of offers, they're gone and I haven't looked back....ju .......

Just a suggestion when you make your 89259 IC's: I have made them both ways 1 straight up using 89259 for IC's and 2 using 89259 and 1506a as twisted pairs My impressions...you're doing labor already .......

I assume you mean the cross connected 89259 JR recipe.....mine were quite good right away....but did steadily improve that last 20% over the next 100+ hrs....they actually need very little burn in ::: .......

You're going to go through a lot of labor to make these....suggest you stick with the Eichman bullets...Silver if you can afford it.....minimize your number of conductors or you will most likely mess .......

I made em....love em!! Labor intensive to twist? NOT REALLY...I put one end of the pairs in a vise and the other in my drill chuck, turned on the drill and let em twist....took about 3 secs for each p .......

Many years ago (over 30) I worked in the electrical wholesale business. Graybar Electric to be exact. They had some stuff made out of some kind of rubber/plastic that came on a roll and you could cut .......

Sounds like your old SW is set up for speaker connection only....is there a line level input?.....looks like female rca jacks? If not then hook em up to your speaker outputs......my SW can be hooked u .......

The Eichman CU bullet RCA's are hard to beat for the $$. IMHO they out-best quite a few plugs costing more....they SOUND expensive; they just don't look expensive .......

I'm using the Linn Tukan stands (filled w/ sand) and had the LK400 wire...I prefer the CC89259! As far as room positioning I've done it for months on end....forgot to mention I have a REL Strata sub.. .......

Whatever you go with....make sure that you "float" a braid over the pair and attach the braid to ground at one end only....if not, you'll probably pick up too much RFI on that long a run.......Your ot .......

Make sure your Cat5e is "plenum" rated. That means it is teflon, rather than pvc coated.....trust me , there IS a big difference in sound .......

Haven't been bothered once, cuz I don't let my email address out on the asylum....if someone wants to reach me, I ask them for their address....I also use spam filtering which helps somewhat agram ::: .......
