Doug, You might want to check with you op-amp guy again. The AD8620ARZ has a maximum voltage rating of 27.3 or when using a split supply +- 13 volts. The EE DAC's supply to the op amps are +- 15 volts .......

The power cables I have tried for the SB2 power supply are a Belden 19364 (Volex) with Furutech Gold connectors and a standard Nitro power cable. The Nitro sounded quite a lot better. More dynamic and .......

The power supply that comes stock with the SB2 is a switching power supply. It has very nasty spikes from the switching transients. This does cause the harshness you are hearing. There are 5 volt DC 1 .......

You have done nothing wrong. The stock switching power supply does add noise and jitter to the signal. I would suggest you try a 5 volt DC, 1.5 A linear power supply first, before you send it back. If .......

I am not familar with your exact receiver, but quite a few AV receivers will process all of the analog inputs to digital and then back to analog. Your purchasing a separate D/A converter will not help .......

Markertek does NOT carry the gold plated Neutrik. When I ordered from them I received the silver ones. NP2C-BAG. When I questioned them, they told me that they do not carry any gold plated 1/4" phone .......

Belden 89259 should NOT be used as speaker wire in a single run. Jon Risch's recipe is for TWO runs per channel twisted together and cross connected. This adds quite a bit to the cost and this quality .......

Markertek carries the full line of Canare connectors. I use their BNC's (male and female) in all my digital gear. Just go to their site and search for Canare BNC connectors. .......

As Steve points out, there is no nickel contact in this plug design, only gold or silver. I have not heard the silver one's yet. I have not received my order. When I get them, I will post a comment on .......

The correct model number for the gold plated Neutrik is NP2C-B. Markertek lists this number, but what they ship is the NP2C-BAG. Which is the silver contact plug packaged in a bulk plastic bag. I trie .......

I am not Jon, but I have built a few of these cables. Use a 50 volt ceramic disc cap. The reason to use the cap is it grounds out RFI but shields out the EMI. Think of it a a very high frequency cross .......

Todd, I originally offered the digital cable as being made with 1506a. I tried out the 1695a coax in the same recipe and I felt the 1695a based cable sounded better. I would be interested in your find .......

You are getting close. In making the twisted pair you want to twist one of the cores of 89259 and the core of the larger gauge solid core, either 82248 or 89248, (the 82248 is available from radioshac .......

Belden 1694a or its Teflon insulated brother, 1695a would be the best choice for this application. Look into markertek.com for the Carare F connectors. For RG-6 use FP-C53. Markertek has them for $2.3 .......
