I have two of the iFi AC iPurifiers. They do have an effect, lowering the noise floor a bit, smoothing out the highs. But even 1 QFI makes a significantly bigger improvement, maybe 5x the improvement .......

If you are using the EQ to cut frequencies and not boost frequencies, you won't lose many bits. You will lose more bits with EQ that boosts frequencies because the system has to renormalize the levels .......

As far as I know, all Flac plugins in all the music players use essentially the same source (from the FLAC developers kit) and all convert the Flac to Wav before playing it. So you are always hearing .......

While I don't know about your cables, burn technique could be the cause. It may also be the burn-in technique used. Small gauge wires with little insulation can get "over-burned" with some of the burn .......

It may not be strictly the hardware is better, but the chipset drivers for the CPU/chipseets etc. For instance, the nForce drivers do affect the way services are prioritized and latency. It's a crap s .......

Have you tried using the DCS as a master clock to the Lynx? It's generally better to use the DAC for clock if it works. But you may lose the ability to automatically change resolutions that way. ::: T .......

The AES16 connectors are a bit tighter than standard, but I have not found them unusable. Have you talked to support about it? They are very responsive, and I am sure they would want to hear about it. .......

Pricey, but they really isolate and have a very detailed and neutral sound. The Sensaphonic 2s are great. .......
