I use a Schiit Bifrost, $350 and upgradable. Schiit also makes both less expensive and more expensive DACs. They are excellent. You can sometimes find B-stock units on Amazon, sold by Schiit themselve .......

The Mini-Maggie system DOES go down below 80Hz (to at least 60Hz). It's the satellites, without the DWM, that don't go down to 80Hz. So, if you use the Mini-Magie as a system for surrounds you are OK .......

According to reviewer Chris Martens, the DWM's response extends up to 5,000 Hz. See link. I own one and I think he's probably right. It certainly extends beyond 200 Hz! .......

With speakers only 3 feet away you need not worry about the T-Amp's 5 watts of power. However, the Tripath chip in the T-Amp likes speakers of about 6 ohms impedance. A lot more than that and the T-Am .......

I use the Acoustic Energy Aego 2's. They were reviewed by Stereophile a couple of years ago. About $400 new, sometimes they come up in Audiogon for about $250 used. Very good sound for the money, near .......
