FLAC is just an encoding format that compresses PCM data. In this regard it is no different than .zip file compression, but it does a better job (more compression, faster processing) than .zip for aud .......

Truth is that 2L has many 96/24 piano recordings that sound like live pianos. No need for MQA encoding to save a few bits. If you are streaming, there may be some benefit to the format if your bandwid .......

The "original file" (whatever the original master was) is not recovered from the decoded MQA. That would be mathematically impossible if the original file was at a higher resolution than 44/24 or 48/2 .......

What kind of a pulse are you talking about? What you see on the SPDIF cable? That would be at the SPDIF clock rate. Or are you talking about the analog pulses you would see at the output of an unfilte .......

These ADCs output 24 bits as a result of signal processing. The DSP creates low order bits, and generally quality of DSP will suffer if there isn't at least 48 bits of resolution in the signal process .......

I used to use EAC, but I sprung for dBpoweramp. I prefer to use it because it is easier to setup, has a nicer user interface, and comes with access to a large number of Internet databases of metadata. .......

How much better depends on the quality of the original recording. I'm not prepared to put a percentage on sound quality. When down converting my studio master analog transfers to 44/16 I no longer was .......

Many vinyl recordings are free of any distortion or unwanted noise, provided that one has a state of the art vinyl setup. I have never heard a comparison between the same master in vinyl and CD where .......

A live microphone feed is better than any analog recording. A high resolution digital recording or a 30 IPS wide master tape are both essentially as good as a live microphone feed. Both are better tha .......
