Is it normal for the stylus to skid into the first groove? Sometimes is seems like it really snaps into it. I have started dropping the stylus very close to the first groove, but I really only started .......

My 299c has bias pots. So the only thing that is needed is a multimeter? The manual is talking about an oscilloscope and a signal generator, etc. .......

Chinook output impedance is 50 ohms, the x250 lists 22 kohms balanced, but I am not using XLRs. I don't know how it would change for single ended operation. I have had my Scoutmaster for 5 years or so .......

The Chinook sounds terrible. Lifeless, dead, bloated and weak bass. In contrast, the JC-3 is very detailed, everything jumps out at you, strong, powerful and accurate bass. Both units are VERY quiet. .......

I did a little experimenting. I found that without the GFP, the sound was more focused, clearer and sharper than with the GFP plugged in. There was also less noise without the GFP. So, the GFP is out. .......
