The speaker does sounds shouty on vocals and is also somewhat opaque. The colorations and strengths of a 300B SET amp were surprisingly complementary. But the Adires sounded horrible with a Krell FPB6 .......

I have a pair of 808's and also a pair of N801's. I have a hard time imagining that the 808's are bass shy, as they put out more bass energy than the N801's driven by either my Krell FPB 600 or my Bry .......
