I highly recommend looking into the Marsh headphone amp from an article in Linear Audio magazine. It has zero capacitors in the signal path, no servo only a trim pot, as the DC offset is by design and .......

If you go to China again, would recommend you plan a layover in Shanghai. It has changed quite a bit in the past 26 years -see link. Was in The Bund last October, and the view is absolutely stunning. .......

Using Audirvana revisions 1.4.97 and 1.5.10 the SQ is different between the two, but both quite good. Revision 1.5.12 SQ is a set down from either. FWIW, I prefer to use 1.4.97. .......

Sounds like you have a Sophia Electric S.E.T. Baby Amplifier, which looks like a modded Meng Music Angel. The internals in the linked ad look different (especially square getter) than my Russian 6P1Ps .......

6P1T are a simply a Chinese version of the Russian 6P1P. I seem to remember that the T indicates Tianjin manufacture, but could be wrong. I have seen them labeled Beijing as well. IMO, not worth the t .......

I found a stash of NOS storage tubes. I hooked up 14 of them stored out in my 2 car garage via CAT 5 cable. I'm planning on battery power for them in the future. These sound WAY better with Pure Music .......

I too couldn't hear a difference when using the Amarra demo vs iTunes. I hear more of a difference between iTunes(prefered) and Front Row, FWIW. Maybe the demo version isn't working with some setups? .......

Be sure to play with buffer size in itunes preferences. I prefer Large. I'd recommend trying a TC Electronics Konnekt 8 or 24 between the computer and DAC. I use one between my Mac Mini and Attraction .......

I use the TC Electronic Konnekt 8's internal ultra low jitter clock as the system's masterclock (via MIDI). Makes a substantial difference with the Attraction. So much so, I switch out the DAC's JISCO .......

The PM5A and PM4A are both specified with a higher gap flux of 2.3T and 2.4T respectively. I prefer the Alnico Lowthers. Which version depends on the enclosure. YMMV. .......

Patience. I've seen them on Ebay for a couple of years in many degrees of condition. I found these on my local Craig's list. Local pickup was important for me. As well as being able to see the speake .......

FWIW.... In my system, with JISCO active, it still passes the character of the transport (or cable), but offers a cleaner more refined version. It won't make a silk purse out of a cow's ear. My OPPO 9 .......

Hi lutsek, Yeah, the highs can seem to be lacking and disjointed, unless you are in the tweeter horn's sweet spot. Also helps to remove those bug screens. But on a casual listen they can have HF that .......

What amp are you running the Attraction into? It might be unstable (high NFB) with the unfiltered sampling frequency. The higher the frequency could excite the problem more. Just a thought. Have you t .......

I ordered the CD only version of the Attraction with the JISCO upgrade. DVD players output CD data at 44.1kHz. The DVD player does not upsample, it simply passes through data at Redbook standard. So n .......

Ouch! Then the Clarity Caps should sound like crap.... They don't. Haven't tried (as coupling caps) the Mundorf, but the Chatreaux brands (SCR/Solen,Axon, Angela labeled, etc.)are markedly colored in .......

I haven't tried the Mundorf Supremes, but after I installed a pair of SA 2.2uF Clarity Caps that I got as samples I am *very* satisfied. Checking with their US supplier, E-Speaker.com, I was suprised .......

I agree that the 515B is great. Had a pair in some Altec 825 VOT cabinets. But one time I was over at Ed Billeci's house when he had his Sato horns running, with WE 728s in 825 bass horns. Those 12" s .......
