Circa early 1960's one of my brothers and I each made a 5 tube AM radio from a kit. The circuit was very common with minor variations. This versions was a table top radio with a plastic case 60's look .......

My fave of his for decades has been Music for Strings, Percussion and Celeste. It also works as a great test of audio systems. The opening movement is so moody, dense. There is a grat drum whack there .......

Don't discount the physical effects of a heavier disc. It will absorb and dampen more vibration, and possible pass more of it on to the platter via tighter platter coupling. It will probably also have .......
