Here is a comparaison between metals: Silver = 9.75 ohms, Copper = 10.55 ohms, Nickel = 53.0 ohms and Chrome = 660 ohms. Doesn't seem a whole lot of difference between copper and silver. .......

I can get 7 ea. BG Z-62's for $2800 rather than $7000, If the Neo 8's would be a better way to go or some other speaker combination, I would take it. I realize your expertise. Your recommendation does .......

Yes, you are right. I certainly don't want the rear speakers to have the same problems as most center speakers. Besides 8" X 17" baffles will look good. .......

I'm bother with the PDR. I might go with the plain Neo8. The back speakers don't need the off axis perfection. It also messes up the sensitivity. Good suggestion with 45 degree angle. .......

I'm using a 9" X 8" for the Neo8, with 8 X 8 for the other driver, creating an 17" X 8" baffle. Hopefully WAF approved. .......

I've lived in an humid home with excess tonnage. It is very uncomfortable. If you haven't experience this than your good to go. The best humidity that I've found is around 55%. .......

With a duct system, we estimate between 400 to 600 sq ft per ton. I don't know what a mini-split system would be. I would think a mini-split should be a bit larger since no ducts are involved. ::: TOP .......

This might appear strange, but I hold my breath when applying the solder. The same as when pulling a trigger. Don't think because the solder is shinny that it is a good solder joint; although, a dull .......

I can understand why sand would be ideal to float your crossover board on, but why not use long strand poly fiber, the one normally used for damping subs. I would think the sand could become messy. :: .......

There is cabinet resonance and also room resonance with subs whether close or vented. At certain frequencies the reactance lever is up or down. I believe this is a false presentation. Maybe the Maggie .......

This is the best sub for app., but it is DIY and most haven't heard it and will disagree. It is the only Open Baffle Servo Dipole Sub out there, but most will bypass it because it lacks recognition. .......

I didn't see any difference in the frequency response. I would say the SPL would be different. You would need concrete floors for this down firing sub, but there are so many other options you can choo .......

The graphs I've seen show MMG at 1000 Hz with 1 watt in, to be 70 db at a distance of 10 ft. If this is true, no wonder we need hefty amps to drive them. Ray .......

Thanks for the answers. Do you have an idea how many amps each amp pulls at idle? The speakers being dipoles, do you believe the perceive power at 10 feet would be say -3 db lost or would it be less? .......

The amps have 36 combined amp output for 8 speakers. The breaker is 15 amps. I'm running 1 pair of MMGs and 3 pairs of MMG-Ws for surround sound in a 500 sq ft room. I know the surrounds won't require .......

But in near field, where is the light. I've tested different flashlights. Home Depot's has one that is adjustable. The beam can be strong in the center, but still is haloing with a wider beam off cent .......

I don't know if it is possible, but couldn't we work out a formula for each model to determine the tilt. Here are some of the variables: model, persons height, modified height of model, ceiling height .......
