I don't know that it has a huge collector following especially in the audio world, but there are collectors of other HP gear that might find it valuable. Whatever value it has probably lies more in it .......

Well, this amp is one of a kind, and it only has about 50 hours on it, so it's tough to say what will and won't work. Nevertheless, it can put out well over 100wpc so at least in push-pull modes, the .......

5v is an interesting voltage because there are lots of off-the-shelf components that work at that voltage. Each 300B is what, 1.2A filament current? 5v@1.2A sounds a LOT like a USB charger doesn't it? .......

Oh one other thing - Electrolytic caps CAN be lightning damaged! It can perforate the dielectric and make it so that the cap leaks a lot of current when it gets warmed up. I used to work as a TV engin .......

First thing I would do is check all voltages, including the rectifier filament. Even though the max capacitor without choke or resistor is 60uf for a 5AR4, 40uf is as hot as I would ever go. Provided .......

Never seen any corrosion issues from that at all. It only releases acetic acid (vinegar) as it cures, which is maybe a day. Manufacturers use it all the time to stick caps directly to circuit boards. .......

I had a friend of mine who was a guitar amp tech. He used to put a big dollop of silicone caulk into the tube shield and then fit it onto the tube in the socket. Messy, smelly, but REALLY worked well .......

Actually, the power supply is designed to power both channels with plenty of headroom and tight voltage. So, it's a two chassis unit, but stereo. And yes, I expect it will dissipate in the area of 400 .......

Pretty sure it's British, looks like a Genelex. Possibly Mullard or Brimar, but my money's on GEC. The octal base style strongly suggests GEC. .......

Hi, Zeners are typically pretty noisy. You might be able to swallow up that noise with a cap, but I wouldn't bother. Without knowing anything about the schematic to which this refers, I'll just throw .......

Hi again, Ok, so you're not married to the MMGs... Well there are lots of nice smaller integrated amps to consider. My personal favorite is the Sherwood S-5000. It won't drive an MMG well at all, but .......
