Cardas Golden Cross interconnects have a "meaty" sound, which might be what you call "organic". Timbres are slightly emphasized is perhaps the best way I can describe the Cardas; Cardas says "punchy" .......

I would suggest one of the D2905 series SS tweeters; the similarity in "house sound" will make voicing easier. Those are very good drivers, and it takes real work to design a crossover either active .......

Well, it all depends... If the manufacturer economized by using a smaller wire gauge than optimal, you MAY find that lower resistance gives slightly tighter bass due to the effective reduction in damp .......

As opposed to a used SCD-1, I'd suggest the SCD777-ES instead. Very similar, less expensive. That plus the full complement of VSE mods, (5+ with the latest Ellis mod) gives you excellent Red Book perf .......

You might also want to consider an SCD777-ES, which is very similar to the SCD-1, and which accepts the same VSE mods as the SCD-1. I can't speak to the "sounding better than anything else under $15k" .......

It's very hard to say, as there are so many possible causes of the sound you describe. The IC's may have a problem, or may simply have stopped masking another problem.I'd certainly agree with scruffy; .......

2.5 meters is not really all that long, and a quick look at the VdH specs indicates that high resistance should not be an issue unless there is a bad connection somewhere. So I'd expect the problem to .......

I recently read that the low dielectric constant often quoted for cotton is for raw cotton balls, with their high air content, and that processed cotton ranges from 2-4. You might try spiraling teflon .......

PVC is noted for inferior sound. Teflon is the preferred choice on several of the 89182 recipe developers' sites; usual reasons given are Teflon's consistent Dielectric Constant over frequency and low .......
