Just a note about the Marantz SA-KI Ruby since it was mentioned: It is a SACD Player as well as a DAC. I bought it because of this so while I was setting up my computer audio I could still play discs, .......

I don't stream, but I recently got a DAC and now use a laptop with external HD to play my CD files. I still play records also. I used DB Poweramp (~$30) to rip all my CDs FLAC to an external hard driv .......

I have the SA-KI Ruby, and from what I can tell it is very similar / almost identical to the 10. Since you mentioned the transport, the Ruby has the same as the 10. Not necessarily recommending it ove .......

I used my DIY 2A3 amp for years in a small room on my ~95 db speakers (not sure exactly, they are DIY also). Moved into a larger room and wasn't feeling it, so I kept the 2A3 for >1,000 Hz and use PP .......

I accept that there can be a slight difference in sound if you connect hi vs. lo terminals with the jumpers, but if the sound is obviously different to the point where it sounds bad one way and much b .......

If you don't have a volt meter, you can get one for under $20 I believe at Radio Shack or similar depending on where you live. Put one probe on the capacitor lead and the other to ground with the mete .......

I got mine from Eurotubes, $220/pair + shipping. It's an American outfit if that matters to you. I've had OS Sylvania, Sovtek, Shuguang 2A3Cs and the JJ's are the best. The Shuguangs are close at 1/2 .......

I downloaded a strobe and used it on my P3. It runs right at 33.3 RPM without a record playing and with a record playing. The strobe does not change at all, not one bit. Can't tell when the needle hit .......

I'm not sure if they're compatable or not, but I've read that the 6P3Se tubes are inexpensive and very good. I have a single ended amp that can use 6L6, EL34, KT88, and the 6P3Se sound very good in it .......

I have a pair of 8 ohm 96db speakers (no crossover) driven by a ~4-watt 2A3 SET. I've measured 95db peaks with a RS meter in my hands at just about 6 - 7 feet away from the speakers. That's at 75% vol .......

Get a suitable amp for your preferences. I drove mine with 4 watt SET, others prefer 200 watt SS. Investigate the crossovers. Seal them in the corners with pipe insulation. Depending on your room dime .......
