Thanks. The seller is an audio dealer who sold the arm to the original owner and took it as a trade in. So in theory, the weights may have been switched. However, I wonder if this is a 1.5 basic that .......

Allright, I took the arm off the arm board, and the serial number stamped below is 0929- the same as the box. So it's weird the box says 1.5t and yet the arm doesn't appear (or flat out isn't) a 1.5t. .......

Thanks for everyone's suggestions. I replaced the KT88s with 6550s and still the hum persists, more so on the left side. Slight hum through the speakers, right speaker still a bit louder. For the life .......
