Definitely not a sideways move. I replaced a PS Audio P500 ($2,195) with a Hydra 4 ($595 plus cable) for its superior effect. The difference is not subtle. .......

My Quad 12Ls took about 50 hours of play to settle in. After that, the image became more solid, the bass more extended, and they essentially "disappeared." I love these speakers and I think you should .......
