The E that I found had paper Vifa woofers. The foam was rotted, and I replaced them with newer rubber surround Vifas. I did a short writeup on Audioasylum you can search for it. .......

True, I've used an AE TD15S for years which falls short of 94db but has mid 20s to 700 hz range in room. No need for subwoofer. Good for A mid 80s studio monitor type of design. .......

Thanks, but it gives me all 18" woofers with the BMS 18N682 as the best match and that it is but I wouldn't want to use it above a few hundred hz. A three would be nice. It's not so easy to cover that .......

That's a decent method to determine phase. Set the crossover and sweep the generator to that frequency then flip the phase to get a max output on the SPL meter to make sure your flat at that point. P .......

If you need the efficiency and are OK with the 80-700hz bandwidth which is about as good as I've seen posted for a midbass horn. Then go with Bills design. Otherwise the Beyma 18 is good from mid\uppe .......

I settled on 1:1 woofer to the floor, 1:2 baffle center to side wall. 1:3 baffle center to front wall. Having a system were a large woofer is close to the floor helps. .......

Faital has a nice range of 8-12s that are well regarded and can be built into narrow towers and barely need a sub. The 12PR310s do an honest 50hz outside and have a nice punchy sound. The 8FE200s look .......

three fold, reduce ripple by 3-6db, add a little DRC to drop the voltage down to 6v and keep what ripple is left balanced on both sides of the heater. They cost as little as $3.00 .......

OK, so the plenum depth null isn't solved by horn loading. 30-400hz is still an excellent range, as is 100-900. With the dual 12" bulk size at 16 cubic foot at least two 15s could be added below 100h .......

Being a computer tech since the 80s I have wire wrap tools. I thought it made it easier to convert.It's the flaky kenwood switches that get me angry. I've had a few and they all had the same problem. .......

It's true that the acoustic center on a 15" two way is small and moving the test mic around will certainly easily display dips at or around the crossover point depending on the angle of the voice coil .......

They refer to it as a "Subscoop" Being the box is 30" deep a 70" 1/4 wavelength would put it at 47hz. Not a bad idea for a "hit box". .......

I could see an advantage to a 2.5way if one woofer was close to the floor to reduce floor bounce and better integrate the system to the room. .......

I like the ports in the front and above the woofer which sits on the floor. This way the air flow energizes the room. However the said woofer is usually 15" crossed below 400hz and the port is 6" by 1 .......

So far my experience is still no EQ is good EQ. Maybe one or two bands of parametric EQ might be good in the bass. IT's best to start with good speakers and position them properly. .......

There are many ideas for 15" two ways. I don't recoment a ductless port. Too much higher frequency energy is reflected back out. Consider a duct port, shelf or tube. .......

I use a quad IB15s, a pair in each corner. They do well to about 100hz. Into the mid 100s they loose quality. I would recommend 12s with Fs below 25hz and Qts above .4 with the slot a shallow as pos .......

Use at least two 3" ports. A single is too shallow and too much midbass reflects out the port. Two 3"ers will be 5-6" deep and clean up the lower vocal range. .......

Hi guys, The 12pr310s are now in a 2.5 cubic foot box tuned in the low 50s. The produce a good mid 50s bass at 96db +-. Not a bad balance for it's size. With this they are perfect for late 50s early 6 .......

I used a 2nd order on the woofer and third on the horn at about 1.8K. This is a throw together. Once the proper box is finished I'll redo the crossover. .......

They are a realistic 96db, 99 is based on cone peaks. I like the good old DE250 with the RCF H110 horn. If you google around another fellow has a complete project built with the SEOS horn. Wayne's Pi .......

The NS 10s are part of the same series but completely different from the 4,5,6 and 8. Here's a link to a 5. They are cheezy looking but are true acoustic suspension and sound very smooth and articulat .......

Thanks for the input. I think this is an area where we have to experiment with the manifold. I would expect the high limit is determined by a quarter wavelength on the manifold dimensions. A 10" woofe .......

I guys! While experimenting with my PPSL IB 15s I find the manifold limits their upper frequency to 225hz. Running them wide open I find the "hit" is excellent but vocals are nasely due to manifold st .......
