In my audition of an RP6 I noticed this issue as well. Rega's grounding scheme is questionable to some, perhaps many. Also, consider that the cartridge is getting closer to the motor. The RP6 sounded .......

I'm not certain you will need a subwoofer in a room of that size. My only recommendation - because it is a small room - is to be cognizant of monitors with a built in bass bump. It may be very pronoun .......
