The correct way is to install diodes (1N4007/FR107 etc) in series with the high voltage B+ leads of the power transformer to the plates of the 5AR4 tube not in parallel from the plate to the cathode. .......

Does anyone know the real specifications from Dynaco on the original PAS-2/3 PA-211 power transformer, the reason I am asking is because I read the filament rating is 800ma but if you add up the filam .......

No need to drill holes in your chassis. Kevin at Dynakitparts.com created a kit that will allow you to balance the bias of the EL34 tube pairs for the left and right channel and a great way to mount 2 .......

There are a few things that can cause this. First I would clean all the switches and controls as a dirty contact can cause the problem you are describing. Second, either a coupling capacitor is bad, b .......

Did you disconnect the old selenium rectifier? My guess is you possibly connected the diode the wrong direction. The band on the diode connects to the bias tap wire of the power transformer. Sal ::: T .......

Moving the transformer is a nice idea but without the cover on you might get more hum. Compare the hum with and without the cover and see if there is a difference. We'll fix this thing somehow... :-) .......

The original power transformer was enclosed with end bells to prevent magnetic interference (I am having a mental block for the correct terminology) that can cause hum. Do you have little hum or a lou .......

I have a PAS-3 I have to restore one day. One channel was had almost no bass at all and one of the coupling capacitors was bad. I would recommend recapping it, not hard to do but be very careful as Dy .......
