These amps run for donkeys years with no modifications. Peter Walker got it dead right. The GZ32 is quite slow enough to protect the other tubes. It also sounds better than the GZ34 you often see subs .......

That is +/- 12 volts. The CT100 has an 18 volt regulator onboard. My discussions with DACT indicate that optimal performance is achieved when you are using +/- 18 volts or more. If you are going to us .......

Steven, thanks. I've been hesitant to mod the Quads. I also have NOS GEC KT66's - the 7581As are used as an alternative. Interesting to compare - they have better bass (depth and tone) than the KT66, .......

I recently installed some NOS Mullard GZ32s in place of the 34s in my amps when I bought them. I found going back to the orginal rectifier made a big improvement (and the amps run a bit cooler as well .......

Try a DACT CT100 phono stage with the CT102 power supply. Put it in a cheap box with RCA's in, XLR's out, and you should be pretty happy (as long as you don't want something that has any obvious chara .......

I worry about the ongoing supply of high quality new 45's at a reasonable price. I was readying myself to purchase some of the EML tubes, but am a bit put off by the quality problems they are apparent .......

The Studietto is an undeniably good turntable. I had one for many years, mainly using a Syrinx PU3 tonearm. I moved to an ET II which was a mistake - linear trackers and suspended tables are a bad mix .......

I use one of these with my Oris 150s and Onken Woofers. I use an AKSA 100 watt amp on the woofers. The crossover works fine and is custom designed for the application. You might need to slightly alter .......
