I bought the Cardas 3.6 kit and it's worth every penny. Included is a cable to short the tweeter attenuator also. I think the main advantage is getting the XO box off the back of the speaker. The Card .......

Hi Kloss, The link you provided is to my system, which I bought from your customer a few months ago. Drivers are the 208E sigma's so I think right around 106db, tweeters are the T90's with the Hovland .......

I use large stacked Oris horns and have the option to sit up to 16' away. I find at 10' the drivers sound 'integrated' and I hear much less of the room and more inner detail. 10' is good for me. Rooze .......

I'm going back and forth between a tweaked set of 3.6's and Caliper Sig's. They present music very differently. The Calipers have more impactful bass and sound slightly more dynamic through the upper .......

I agree that smaller gauge wires generally sound better to a point, provided that their current carrying capacity is well within the limits of the circuit. I don't class a 12 AWG wire as being a large .......

I think 18 gauge on a Magnepan (with it's higher than average current demand on the amp) is probably too small. The 12 gauge is actually very easy to work with and I don't see the need to try and use .......

Just to make one clarification, the listener is looking down the length of the room and not towards the wall closest to them. You are looking between the speakers with the backs of the speakers facing .......

Hey Rathbone, Sorry, I should have mentioned that my seat is 8' from the speakers, so it's close to an equilateral triangle. I too find that this helps in taking out much of the room effect, though si .......

I wonder if anyone has a theory on optimum placement of 3.6's, if the room WAS NOT a constraint in any way. Lets say you had a really large room and there were no restrictions on placement, I wonder h .......

Hey Andy, I really can't offer any a technical explanation why air-cores may not work well as bass inductors. After my crossover gets a couple 100 hrs of break-in time, I may switch out the solens and .......

Hey Dai, I used alphacore 12 AWG aircore inductors on the mid/tweeter (3 per side, and Solen inductors on the bass (2 per side). Consensus seems to be that using aircores on the bass is not a good ide .......

I've had some problem blowing tweeter fuses in a larger room with 3.6's. I use Cary V12i monoblocks which never sound strained at higher volumes, but if I got upwards of about 95db at the seat positio .......

I used a Leak Stereo 20 with ESL 57's and it sounded very good. It sounded even better with Sonus Faber Electa's and other smaller more efficient monitors. .......
