A tube actually requires a fair amount of heat to work, that’s in the basic design. Then there is the A AB stuff to worry about. But for the most part heat is not good for any electrical component. A .......

Bold as usually well said. Here are my 2 cents on your 12 points: 1. The most expensive part of any system is the time spend putting it together. You’re right on with the quick fix thing. 2. I have he .......

I like all three, as to one being more tubeier or wooly in the base you got me! Many people in this forum do like the 2230 alot but I have always consided the 2270 to be a step or two up the ladder. .......

It was never top of the line Hi-Fi but this model was a long way from junk. Believe me the Dual 1019 was lots better than most turntables of its day. The main design problem was that it had only a 10 .......

Bold Eagle makes a good point about the 2270 with low impedance speakers. This receiver really does cry out for 8 ohm speakers. I have seen a few 2270's setup with modern 4 ohm speakers and IMHO this .......

I have read the other posting and I have to agree I would probably select a Model 18 everything else being equal. The Model 18 was a very special receiver made when Marantz was at small company in New .......

Congratulations on your purchases. Although none of these units would qualify as vintage in my book the Mac stuff is high end and should sound petty good. I’m always in favor of amps with big output t .......
