Yeah, no room at the inn, so to speak. I cannot ship the TT because after storing the empty box in a damp basement in Chicago for 5 years, it was in sad shape and barely survived the move to Flagstaff .......

It seems to work really well. I have the SG-3 on sorbothane pads and each glass shelf sits on silicone pads on the steel frame. Here is another pic: .......

My wife and I recycle everything that's recyclable, even though some of it ends up in the landfill We compost and use it in the garden. Entire yard is xeriscaped requiring no water except for the vegg .......

Try scanning with a pair of 7x35 or 8x40 binos. It may help vs naked eye. If you can find some of the stars in the Big Dipper. You can find the comet. Good luck, don't give up. .......

Buy a Berkey filter and put 4 of the black filters in it. Filters will last about 5-6 years. Then use tap water. We've had ours about 2 years. Water tastes great, filters quick and no plastic bottles .......

I only have about 900 CDs and records. I created a simple database in Microsoft Access that works fine. I can then export any number of sorted reports to my iPad and have a quick reference in my liste .......

My EAR phono pre uses tubes and I see no reason to waste their lifetimes or the power to run them. Same with my CD player and preamp that also use tubes. Only my SS amp is left on all the time unless .......

The 6 db gain is quite noticeable when using the tube output mode and absent in the JFET output mode. The gain doesn't appear too much for my EAR phono stage or my tubed CD player as the volume knob o .......

Taped the DIN junction really well and secured the cable as it curves out from under the turntable with the metal cord keeper so that there was no torque on the cable, hooked up the turntable and fire .......

I use a sub with my Maggies which start to drop off at about 45 Hz. It provides that final octave down to 30 Hz that you mentioned. A sub should fill in missing frequencies seamlessly with your speake .......

One other thing. HSU provides connections both from the preamp outs via RCA connections and from the amp speaker terminals via standard speaker wire. PSA provides just the connection from the preamp. .......

You may want to consider a MHZS CD88 tubed player. I took a chance and bought one about two years ago (and wrote about it here). It is extremely well built and it made me want to listen to Redbook CDs .......

Thanks for the helpful response. Looks like in principle, the hookup should work. Hopefully, the CDP and the Freya have properly designed balanced ports and the Freya does the conversion from balanced .......

Some would even say that using a pair of Y-splitter cables before the phono stage will do the same thing as a switch or a mono cart. You could experiment without having to swap out your preamp. ::: TO .......

The Mofi Ultra Tracker is the $500. Just haven't been out long enough I guess to get any reviews. The Hana's are indeed well reviewed and the E series models are in the same $500 price range. ::: TOPI .......

Still love classical, but we moved back to northern AZ in 2013. We really miss the Indy symphony. We have a decent one here in little Flagstaff, but they don't rate the big name soloists. Still enjoy .......
