I love 45 amps and I have owned a bunch of 45 amps in the past from Korneff, Yamamoto, Burgess, Hogan, Moth and several others. There are sonic differences amongst them but not really huge differences .......

You can do the most good with the least dollars by replacing the 6SN7's. Since there are four of them, I assume one per channel is input and the other is the driver. For around $50 you can find a quad .......

I agree that the real efficiency of these, or many other speakers, is most likely over estimated. But for my use, in a 10 X 12 room with a 6' listening distance, these speakers do well with a 1.8 watt .......

Based on my personal experience: Altec 15's sound good with 8 watts of SET power too. In the not so good with 8 watts - Sansui SPX 8700, Ohm Walsh, Coral BX-1500 -- all need more power. .......

I believe that of the monitors you have mentioned, the MM De Capo i is the only one that is efficient enough for to be a good match with a SET amp in your size room. The others you mention are 4 to 6 .......

I have had mine for around 8 months and have no noise problem. I do not play them all the time as I switch off with the 845M's from time to time. I also have hum pots on my amp for both the 845's and .......

I had the next rung up in AP, the Libra's a while back, which were wonderful speakers with amazing imaging and lifelike detail. I never had the opportunity to try them with a SET amp but of the choice .......

I agree that the 845B is a noticable improvement over either the stock VA/sino 845, or for that matter the cryoed 845's. I think the 845B has a warmer overall tone, more detail, is smoother,has enhanc .......

I called Upscale Audio to get a pair of 6H30's for a preamp, and 30 minutes later they were in my preamp and running. Did I mention I live 10 minutes away from Upscale Audio? We are so spoiled with .......

I think the Njoe Tjoeb 4000 is an excellent player and with the huge variety of 6922/7308/6DJ8 tubes to choose from, you should be able to find the level of warmth that suits you and your system. The .......

I think the Njoe Tjoeb 4000 CD player is a great sounding player and it uses 6922/7308/6DJ8 tubes in the output section. This gives it a sweeter sound and lets you experiment with different tubes to g .......

What kind of 45 are you looking for? Have you done your research by searching AA and other resources? Here is my own take on 45's: Best are EML solid plate 45's, more expensive and worth every dollar .......

My MF A5 seemed to improve in detail and imaging in the first two weeks or so of use. Excellent machine and I agree with you that it is a really great value for the bucks. .......
