Don't worry about the Zobel/RC Networks for now... While re-terminating your speaker cables would be best, a set of decent banana to spade adapters (Cardas makes some as well as other companies) ca .......

TSM MXE/MME series are lead free... Cardas no longer makes/Ella/offers a lead free solder. A kester lead free will be as close as you clan get without getting your hands on a 1lb roll of the original .......

The CDI Torque 401SM is what I use in addition to a identical torkit tool that Bobby used and its torque settings correspond plenty close enough to the values in/with the tool that Bobby/Merlin used. .......

The TSM is a 8 ohm Nominal, mid 6 ohm minimum load. 87dB Sensitivity. For most tube amps with multiple output impedance taps, the 8ohm tap works/sounds best. I would think this would be the case for w .......

Its a all tube design (well, except for the built in MM phono preamp which is solid state) ...not a hybrid. The cheaper Rogue Sphinx is a hybrid amp. The KT120's are running in Ultralinear configurati .......

FWIW - The newest (and most expensive) Cardas USB cable I know of is the Clear High Speed USB which is $350 MSRP according to my price sheet for a 0.5m length and a $900 one would be over 5m long! I h .......

Joule-Electra used the 6350 in thier LA-100MKIII preamp, LA-150MKII/SE preamp, OPS-1 and 2 phono preamps, and in all thier OTL amps. Its a nice tube - worked well/sounded good in all the Joule gear. ( .......

Its looks like on the lower terminals the speaker cable spades are sitting on top of the spades for the jumpers. Try it the other way around... this way the speaker cable spades are making direct cont .......

While iFi's info on their web-site can be a bit over the top, their stuff is very well engineered and voiced given the price points (they are part of AMR - Abington Music Research I think - AA long ti .......

While you can't go lower, I have not yet run into a cartridge that required a Rega arm to be lowered to get correct VTA... this is mainly due to the height of Rega's own cartridges being so low that t .......

Those VSM-M are probably close to 15 years old, but still a good deal. Used TSM's are around and show up from time to time (fairly regularly)... Used prices can vary a bunch because the basic speakers .......

Rega makes two different VTA spacers for use with the 3 point mount arms. The "adjustable" or maybe better yet "height selectable" 2/4/6...mm height plastic spacer can be used on any of the 3 point mo .......

The standard 295mm 2mm thick mat has always worked fine/best for me and is the one I reccomend to my Rega customers. I like the 2mm thick mat as I think that is what most closely matches the thickness .......

I'm using the same power supply on mine... Works and sounds good (better than the stock Mean Well power supply for sure). I've lost tried/used the 9V iFi iPower with my Regen... Not quite as good good .......

B+ voltage is around 280V IIRC, so a 400 or 500 V part will be fine. Since both parts do not visually match, I wonder if the power supply has been worked on before. I would stick with the 47uf value. .......

I have seen (heard) this (noise/pop after lift) a couple times before. The suspension in the exact is "sticking"... hence the noise and pop for a few seconds after the cartidge comes of the table unti .......

I don't own a RP10, but have sold a few. No issues with speed accuracy on the tables I have set up for customers. Speed very stable. My customers have traded up from other Rega tables (P7 and P9 IIRC) .......

I think any USB dac will work with the camera kit adapter and the iPad. It has worked with Rega DAC, the Wavelength Audio dacs, and the little Chordette unit I have here. BTW, though I have not tried .......

FW drive has ample throughput to get the music off the disc and out the USB port. I think FW is also preferred so that the disc I/O is not shared with USB hub/controller which is just left to handle t .......

My Apple TV has been working very well over my Linksys B/G/N router, but you can Ethernet directly to it via Cat5 if you want to guarantee no issues. For HD purists, the 720p that ATV offers is not go .......

I would not call Rega integrateds warm sounding. Between the Brio and Mira, the Mira is the is the more defined and PRAT-y sounding unit and IMHO would be the best match for the Vandy 1C. The Brio is .......

I found cleaning makes a huge difference. My main PC stands on the floor underneath my desk... its nice there because its out of the way, but it does tend to suck in dust. The power supply and CPU fan .......

Dave, I do have a Sim LP5.3 here and I use it regularly. This is a fairly new product from Simaudio (only been out a year or year and a half at most)... The RS version is Sim's RoHOS compliant models .......

The Capitole's (MK2 and Reference) have pretty high output at max volume (odB) of around 5V. A setting of -6dB will get you to 2.5V (a bit above normal CD player spec output) and -10dB gets you to aro .......

Best way to check would be to take a flashlight to the grill to examine the woofer (if the surrounds are deteriorated it should be very obvious via this visual inspection) or remove the speaker grill. .......

If you are really on a tight budget, the Prima Luna Prologue integrated amp uses EL34s and is a very nice peice for a $1,100 integrated amp. Idealy the Ars Sonum Filarmonia is a great match and a awes .......

I think it depends on the volume leevls you like to listen to at and the character of the amp. The punchy sounding 50W/ch Manley stingray does a suprisingly nice job on the P3s in a modest (not large) .......

a 9 gauge solid core silver (in my experience) is a cable that can make the speaker sound a thin and bright. This type of speaker cable is quite clear sounding, but the balance is all wrong. Ideally, .......

The Cardas no stress binding posts will work fine with the typical 1/4" (6mm or wider) wide (opening) spade. Anything narrower than that (which is not very common) will cause problems. Happy Listening .......

While Merlin cannot turn your old TSMs into TSM-MMs, he can get them fairly close. The main issue with your older TSMs are the cabinets which are made differently than the newer TSMs... so your old TS .......

Joule-Electra does manufactuer and continues to manufactuer OTL power amplifiers, though none of thier products are offered in kit form. IMHO as a EE - I would not consider the Berning amp a OTL nor d .......

A LA100 upgraded to a LA-150 should be just the same as (or at least, very close to) a current LA-150. There are some small differences in the power supply of the LA-100 Joule has made over the years .......

If I recall correctly, the numbers/letters the transport is giving you are error codes. I only havwe a few hybrid SACDs here (none of the Living Stereo ones though) and those have played the CD layer .......

Bolting the TSMs to a rigid set of stands is a great way to go. For those who not quite prepared to go to that degree, Blu-Tak-ing the speakers to the stands works well, BUT... People all to often use .......

Those new Scion xBs are pretty cool. With a new car I tend to get the oil changed at 1,000 miles and run dino oil (tuner speak for conventional oil made from dead dinosours :-) ) up to the second chan .......

I would say if you engine is fairly new (less than 15,000 miles), feel free to change over to full synthetic. I generally switch over at around 5,000 miles to full synthetic and for many years with ma .......

Hmmmm.... this is a tough one. The PSBs are not that sensitivive to be a problem with the self noise of the circuitry and you ahve tried all the logical things. I'll have to think on this some more,bu .......

To my knowledge, there has never been a HiFi club here in Syracuse/CNY area. Rochester and Buffalo had clubs, but they have disbanded as far as I know. Just not enough HiFi geeks around here I guess. .......
