Try a high quality passive "preamp". It would be low risk to buy a used one since there are no active components. If you need a phono stage, buy a separate one. About 12 years ago I was using an Adcom .......

It does affect the sound. You should notice that the image is skewed toward the speaker with the dented tweeter, due to poor dispersion of the high frequencies. My Thiel CS2 and Spendor SA-3 tweeters .......

The main reason given for going to digital TV was to free up RF bandwidth for other uses. FM radio takes up only a small sliver of the spectrum that analog TV took up. There's not much to be gained by .......

I'm very impressed with my Wireworld Atlantis interconnects in my passive pre set-up. Last I checked they were ~$90 for 1 meter, but well worth it. Wireworld also makes less expensive interconnects. : .......

I owned a Pioneer PL-115D (newer, semi-auto version of the PL12D) from 1977 to 1984. I upgraded to a Dual CS 505-2 and still use it in my basement system. The Dual is slightly better than the Pioneer .......

As an owner of a Dual 505-2 (which is now collecting dust in the basement, the turntable, not me), $50 is probably a fair price if it is in great condition. My Rega Planar 3 beats it by a large margin .......

This will not harm the receiver/amp in any way. The speakers, however, are rated to handle a continuous 50 watts, they can probably handle peaks beyond that. 70 watts is not really much more than 50 w .......
