The differences can be jarring at first. I think you have the right idea: give it more time and see if your initial impressions hold. IME it takes a lot more system "alignment" to get a passive setup .......

IMO the MFSL is one of the best redbook options for Innervisions. I still like the SACD and AF a bit better, and that's probably why I'm selling my MoFi, but it's quite good. .......

It's hard to go wrong with either the AF golds or the SHM-SACDs. (I have both. Can't speak to the Blu-Rays.) I would go with whichever you can get for the best price. The SACDs offer a tad more insigh .......

In my experience, SHM-CD titles are pretty variable in their sonics. Depends almost entirely on the remastering; IMO the SHM coating does very little to nothing. SHM-SACDs are a bit more consistent, .......
