Agreed...replace the string (belt). The string for this string drive table eventually stretches and this can result in hokey speed stability. Also, check to see if the platter is sitting on the spindl .......

I would agree. I never listened to my Scott LK-48 phono separately from the amp but the whole package was great. Mine was fully restored including the phono. On vintage mono records, it shined. Still, .......

I used a 102 for a while and now use a GE VR II. I think the GE VR II is superior. It is a moving iron. Dynamics are incredible. Although, can't use it on sfereo cut mono lps. .......

The amp is a 300B SET. I love this amp and even moreso now. I used $35 Solen 100UF/600V for each 300B to replace the 100UF Spragues. I did not have room for anything larger. I realize this is routine .......

I wanted exactly what you wanted. So, we went with the 12B4 driver and good output transformers (Magnequest FS-030). The 12B4 is a descendent of the 2a3 and has the voltage swing needed to drive a 300 .......

I cannot hear hum at the seating position from my AC heated 300B amp into 98-100db Altecs. The pots work nicely and the hum cancellation is superb. Depends on the amp. .......

I use mostly 46s in my Burgess amp. Fantastic sound on inexpensive transformers (Transcendar). JB put a switch on this amp to allow for correct operating points between the 45 and the 46. Thought mayb .......

Olddude, I generally agree but if you like the Beach Boys, The Band, or other Capitol artists, try and find a Capitol green label reissue with "mastered by capitol" in the deadwax. it has to be dark g .......

You know, I just thought of the K&K Audio phono stage. The maxxed out kit comes with switch selectable gain and loading on the Lundahl step ups and it's a highly regarded unit. Makes me think I should .......

I have bought a couple 2nd pressings this year for less than $60. VG+, mono, and quiet if you have the right setup (mono cartridge). Maybe I got lucky? I also have the Hoffman 45 rpm issues. I'm not p .......
