Diana's records always have a certain sparkle to the sound that I like but also seems very "studio" to me. Maybe it's those old tube mikes plus the fact that the piano is usually pretty up front. Casa .......

The FE127e comes with a foam ring that's seated under the mounting flange for the driver. If the ring is left in place the flange does not sit flush on the front of the box when using the recommended .......

The measurements were taken off the cathode resistor for each tube. Guess I should have been more clear in my initial posting. Given that--it appears that cathode current is varying by as much as 10%. .......

The DC supply is currently floating. The 6SN7's are set up as a simple plate follower so there shouldn't be any heater to cathode issues should there? Thanks, Phil .......

Looks like the TI will drop about 15% with a 5uF input cap. I'm looking at 4.7uF Solen Fastcap. There is absolutely no hum coming from speakers now. Hopefully this cap will keep it to an acceptable le .......

The Decware Zen schematic is available at their Web site and uses SV83, which is very similar to EL84. It's a single-ended, triode design. Svetalana has a white papar on subbing SV83 for EL84. I think .......

I recently scavanged a power transformer from an old tube "Hi-Fi". The electrical service to my home runs around 120v which is moving the secondary voltages on this transformer "out of spec" for filim .......
