As others have mentioned, the important difference to many people is efficiency. For any SET 300B and down, the Altecs win. I like the Altecs. I like alnico. But if the 44XX series is comparable to th .......

I use Valencias. Tweeter or no tweeter is about personal taste. But the last thing I want is a buzzer going tssssssssssss at 20kHz like a mosquito in my ear. There's no denying a tweeter makes a world .......

While usually not mentioned, I consider the elimination of phase-shift is the most important reason to use a longer arm. "If signals are phase-shifted at the entrance, there is no way to put them back .......

That "plastic 4-pin piece" could turn out to be a challenge. Other than that, it is easy to rewire an Ortofon arm. But why not wait till you know if you need to worry? .......

As said, I do not know what "input sensitivity" means in this case. I think it will be fine, that the only thing you will notice is the higher output level. I doubt it will happen, but in worst case s .......

No, it won't hurt. There is the slight possibility that the preamp will clip. I do not know what input sensitivity means in this case. For power amps it means the level where the amp will clip. You wa .......

I worked in a record store in the 1980s. Every month or so two guys came with 2-3 cases of new bootlegs. Mostly live stuff, but also outtakes and such cut from masters. In Dylan's case, the outtakes o .......

I cannot stand Clapton. He killed perhaps the greatest song ever made, Knockin' On Heavens Door. But there's no comparing the Dead to Cream. The only band I can compare the Dead to is that third rate .......

Don't bother. I would have felt insulted and cheated if I had bought an expensive deck and found it was driven by an amateurish rubber belt. That's something you would expect from a homemaker as a tem .......

First, the DL-110 doesn't cost more than an extra stylus for many MM carts. So wear it out and throw it away. Second, it IS high output. Since the guy mentioned a MM cart, this could be a nice alterna .......
