Basically the bearing has a lot of slack in them, which can easily be felt - just grasp the armtube and feel the play as you gently pull forward and backwards. Best regards, Peter. .......

Hi, Yes I've used and sold quite a few of these over the years and I still love them- they are one of the great integrated amp bargains out there on the used market. The X is less powerful than the XV .......

Hi, My understanding is that the Mephisto 2 will wear out the optics even whilst idling. However I too find that they only require minimal warming up time so its not really a big problem in practice. .......

Aaah, I understand what you mean but I'm afraid I don't know what it actually works out at. As I bought the matching horns I have never needed to work out the actual opening size. Keep scouring Ebay, .......

I used a pair of S3's for a short while before I got my current S5's. So I know exactly what you mean. I crossed them over with a second order filter at 500Hz, and they were my first taste of compress .......

I'm building some interconnects using uninsulated soild silver wire (that I will put in a cotton tube as insulation) and am curious to know whether oxidization on the surface of the cable is important .......
