Thanks Kloss, I saw that the hi-vi is a mid/tweet that goes down to 1.7 khz. The FT1600 uses a Fostex FE167 that goes up to 22khz, according to Bob Brines website. Would I have to do anything special .......

It's a wonder to me why Magnepan continues to produce those floppy ass stands. Upgraded crossover components and stiff stands would introduce a whole new speaker. .......

If you modify your stands with Myestands, Magnestands, or Home Depot shelf supports like I have you will hear a much more defined soundstage. With Magnepans you have to keep the speaker from vibrating .......

I just tried it and it works great. I had the amp custom built and had him add the headphone jack. Maybe he kept everything the way it was and just outputted the preamp the headphone jack. ::: TOPIC:: .......

The 7T was introduced about seven years ago but never went to market due to not passing FCC regulations. It is safe to say that these "new" amps on ebay right now are actually seven years old. ::: TOP .......

Put a resister inline with the tweeter like John suggets. I do it all the time. Start with a 2 ohm but buy 1.0, 1.3, 1.5, 1.6, and 2.2 and see which you like best. North Creek Audio makes real good on .......

I own a Vecteur Club Six amp and it is fabulous. I A/B it next to my Jolida 1501RC and it's no contest. The Club Six takes a layer of haze away. I would think that the new I-4.2 is just awesome for $1 .......

AM, I just tried moving the right speaker forward about 9 inches. Low and behold this balanced out the sound. Since this imbalance occures regardless of where my speakers are it must the ears. Now is .......

The Aurasounds aren't in the same league as the Michaura's. The Aurasound has the definate edge in bass and "might" image a tad bit better but that's it. The Michaura's have a much more refined sound. .......

Sam, I had the same problem as you. I replaced the fuse with quarter inch copper tubing, replaced the steel jumper with a Mapleshade copper ribbon jumper and installed the Image Clarifiers at the amp .......

I went to Home Depot and bought one foot to 1/4 copper tubing for 79 cents. I then cut it to the length of the fuse, sanded it down and coated it with ProGold. It really helped to sound out with class .......
