I like them a lot. I have traded one of my 250 wands for a somewhat complete 501h wand. I do not have a lot else to compare i to but it is a very easy arm to align and seem to be compatible with a wid .......

I have two of these. The ring below is held by 3 machine screws, once removed the arm should just lift out. To be safe remove the arm wand and lock the pivot when you work on it. There is a neoprene .......

a few high end silver cartridges and i also own a high end empire with silver coils. I never could attribute the "sound" of the cartridge to having silver coils. Having the Empire re-tipped from boron .......

The materials used in the bearing have some properties that make them almost indestructible. You are more likely to shatter it by dropping it, than destroying it spinning it dry. All that said almost .......

most likely enamel insulated, oxidation is not an issue. One might be able to make longer single crystal conductors out of silver, but given the typical length of the wire used for an MC coil it is no .......

Check the voltage setting it is dual voltage but you need to switch it on the back. Since you are in the US it is unlikely you would release smoke. But it would not power up with the wrong setting. .......

Ask the question...Does it matter?. Say groove noise is at -60db, the total noise of the table is -72db....what is the cumulative noise? i would venture to day that it is not more than -59.9 db, a min .......

My Sp-10 MK 2 is rated for 73 dB SN. that is very quiet by any standards. But some of the noise is still mechanical, some is electronics. User510 had a bunch of measurements with different bearing mat .......

if cast it has to be cast in a vacuum furnace. if machined it has to be machined from plate stock a 12"x12"x1" plate is over $750 from most sources i located. also the material must be stress relieve .......

The sp10 was built to be serviceable, it takes a few screws to strip it down, but it is not tricky to put it back together. Many people have them finished with automotive paint here is an interesting .......

It is slipping from the beginning. If i recall the the motor is rotating at 600 rpm or so. As it slips it gets the string warmer and warmer and it stretches more and more, when it is cold it is tighte .......

I do not know if the reference moved the bottom support pin much closer to the center. in my classic the bottom pin is far enough off center that the platter stands up unless it is lightly pressed dow .......

sp10 -mk 2 motor is has 6 Nm torques the mk3 has a motor with 16 Nm. The mk3 started up in 0.25 secs to 33 and 1/3. so unless the VPI platter is over 20 lbs anything with more torque is overkill. de .......

Almost all the new direct drives that are worth considering are in the 10k+ range. That gives them a very comfortable margin to beat any of them, even if they sell it over the adjusted price of a sp 1 .......
