Recently I met a friend who own a pair of B&W 804S. Their highs are better, but they're not even close to FTA-2000s in terms of fullness and warmth. .......

I'd say, install a couple of Alan Maher's Reference II active filters, then see if you need to upgrade the preamp's caps. Recently I upgraded caps and resistors in my speakers to Mundorf Supreme and D .......

I would look into the AC power line before any attempt to change components. The PSA P300 may not be your answer. Products from Audience, Running Springs Audio, and Alan Maher's PE come to mind. Havin .......

I'll keep that in mind when installing chokes. Right now, PPP powers the audio setup (upstairs), and Hydra powers home theater setup (downstairs). I assume keeping chokes strictly in the 2 ch audio se .......

My two week old PPP was playing Xmas song pretty darn good 2 hours ago, then suddenly the PPP produced some "zzzz" sound. Equipment hooked up to and powered by the PPP were a 50w Audiosector Patek SE .......

If you can justify $500 - $700 range, the Horns (thehornshoppe.com) are very good with some lack in bass. Ed Shilling the designer and builder has made a sub for his speakers called Hornline. ::: TOPI .......

I haven't heard an ACI or even a REL Strata but do own a pair of REL Storm IIIs. A sealed box Strata with xover frequency as low as 22hz and direct speaker level will let you integrate very well with .......

Well, by specs the Marantz SR7200 puts out 105W into 8 ohms load. If (and as a modern receiver, hopefully so) it's designed to handle lower impedance load, the receiver will drive the 4 ohms load of t .......

If the sub has feet, I'd replace the feet with spikes. Or fit the spikes on its bottom, and put some weight (lead bag(s), etc.) on top of the sub. Change to a better IC/cable and/or power cord would h .......

It's hotter at the head and cooler at the tail. I can hold my hand on the hotter part no problem. Since the unit has never got shutdown, I didn't see a need to remove the sub. Will keep an eye on it f .......

Even at higher than normal listening level, the power display never touched the amber area - it's hardy 110, 120 with the sub connected. On the average use, with the MW setting of SS1, it shows 80 mos .......

I have got a Vecteur D-2 for almost a month and love it. It costs $1,090 plus $50 for Mutine cones. Very musical, so tuneful that I don't feel like scratching my head longing for SACD. .......

I find the DAC in the Denon AVR-5700 quite good sounding. It helps to use it with a PS Audio P300 or a Hydra (even better) and good power cord. .......
