I take it you have never really used a Kef 104 or 104aB. I currently have ported speakers and the undamped woofer is not much of a problem. The Kef 104 and 104aB could be pretty extreme on record warp .......

I think the use of a smaller supertweeter would increase the HF dispersion somewhat. JA thinks using two tweeters causes some high end interference effects, but they are very high. I have grave doubt .......

Walter is wonderful for Brahms Symphonies 1, 2, and 3, but I find this recording with Fritz Reiner and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to be better on the 4th Symphony. .......

Those speakers have a bass response at -10 dB at 30 Hz, which is a good estimate of the limit of useful bass, though that would depend a great deal on the room. This is more than adequate for a lot of .......

I found the recording using the Pearl mics louder, also fuller balanced. So, it raised the playback level of the recording using the Superluxz mic a bit, which improved the sound, but it was still not .......

You have an excellent receiver which will drive most conventional speakers very well. The IHF dynamic power (short term power) is actually spec'd down to 2 ohms, though I would not suggest it for 2 oh .......

You are correct. Every amplifier review in Stereophile includes the frequency response into a simulated speaker load. Soundstage is unable to have every amplifier reviewed measured by BHK Labs, but th .......

Nice anecdotes. However, lacking measurements, you don't really know what was happening to make the sound all that different. I have heard the occasional amplifier that sounded different from the accu .......
