The good old mac mini will do that and more - Handbrake will rip pretty much anything (as will iTunes) - add in VLC, and you have a fine media center. Set up, it will pass 5.1 through the digital port .......

iTunes can be a bit odd in terms of its tagging ability, and the ability to handle more standard artwork files etc. If you have a Mac, TuneUp is very hyelpful as it properly re-tags and artworks your .......

New version means new ways of doing things. AppleTV needed changes to iTunes, iTunes changed, and had by the sounds of things adjusted the library to the new structure. Sounds to me like it's worked .......

Yup, in fact, there is absolutely no reason at all why this topology cannot be applied to the output stage of a high current capable tube, thus avoiding the airgapped transformer that SE operation nee .......

Sounds like a plan. SE operation of a pentode, tends to give super simple circuits that use local feedback to improve performance, and the EL84 is a fine tube that could be driven from a standard line .......

The Ming-Da should not be bass-shy.. I'd suspect the missions (especially if they're the old infinite baffle type) - this type os speaker design is good at transient response, and the midrange is good .......

They are ok for SE in distributed load form. The downside is biasing the tube - as that will have to be fixed, and cannot be cathode bias (easily). Basically one half of the PP winding is B+ to anode, .......

Ok, to the Yes - you can use LS chokes for PSUs - they will be able to strip HF hash from the mains to the no - the massive radiated magnetic field from an air core would make stopping hum a complete .......

Yup, simply because the increased dimensional stiffness and damping of the arm tube will highlight problems elsewhere, which some manufacturors will not like. However, those that have overspecced cons .......

Twist wires where + and - are together - improves shielding naturally without additional shields (CMRR increases). Use shielding for seperate runs of + or - Use the best possible wire of your choice. .......

Hi, sweet. A simple and cosmeticly acceptable damping of the arm tube can be approached in a number of ways... 1/ strategic damper - where you're at. Typically in the middle of the tube will kill off .......

Ok, PSU is beefy enough. It is currently configured as choke input - is it strictly necessary or could some extra B+ be useful?... If so, add a 20uF cap before the first choke. This will push the B+ .......

Easy. You have listed what you'll need. You can get a componant drill bit from RS, or maplin and the such like. Personally I wouldn't do it, but then I like point to point, as I control the path in 3 .......
