My current hook up is: hdmi out from oppo bdp 105 into tv. HDMI out from directv box into tv and analog audio out from tv to 2 channel system. I would prefer to use the analog audio out from the oppo .......

Was there a couple months ago. Oysters were great, chowder too, but I wasn't blown away. I recently hit a place in Fells Point Maryland, oysters were better than GCOB and the escargot was incredible. .......

I agree.....dragged around my boxed LPs from the 70s and 80s for years, stored in garages, storage units, etc...when I got back into vinyl several years ago they were perfect. Boy am I glad I held ont .......

I had issues a couple years ago with undersized sleeves from SleeveCity. They did the right thing and sent replacements but I switched to MoFi and will not go back. I'm sure they solved the problem b .......

I have an Aria and for me it's a great sounding cart. I listen mainly to rock and jazz with occasional classical and it does a great job with all those genres. My Pass Labs X Ono helps too.....for me .......

IMO, white lithium grease is perfectly fine. I've used both on my inverted bearing (non-VPI table) and prefer the lithium. No need to stress over this..... unless you really want to. .......

I don't remember what it was, several years ago. I think the markup is approx 35-40 points on components (someone can correct me if they know for sure), so I figure out an approximate cost and take it .......

See if you can find Atlantis Audio Racks, not sure if they are still in business....but they made a decent, nice sized rack (big shelves) for a reasonable price. I bought mine from Spearit Sound sever .......

92 degrees refers to SRA, stylus rake angle. You can try using a 10x or 20x loupe, but it's best viewed with a USB microscope. I bought a cheapo on eBay and while it doesn't have the best resolution, .......

I had some early versions of this motor, direct from FFYX. It couldn't hold a steady speed and was way too light; toppled over with the belt tension. I cannot recommend this motor, to anyone. A decent .......

I had the Jelco on a prior table, thought it was a very good DIN to RCA phono cable for the money. Unless you want to spend big bucks, this is a good choice, IMO. If your tastes run to the expensive, .......

Jeff, the lines on the strobe should appear to be as stationary as possible. Go to Home Depot and get a flourescent light, I think mine was under 20 bucks. Adjust the SDS, at both 33 and 45 RPM, until .......

I have the original MoFi and it is the quietest LP in my entire collection. I have a mint collection, and very quiet playing LPs, but that Stan Ricker mastered, JVC pressed MoFi vinyl has no sound at .......

The actual motor is Swiss (not sure of manufacturer) and was assembled by a Chinese company no longer in business. Truth is, this motor had better native speed stability than a stand alone one I purch .......

I know exactly what you are referring to and I experienced the same with inexpensive 'table/arm combos. I have an original Verve Stan Getz "Jazz Samba" that was unlistenable with my prior tables; loud .......

Even with setting the SDS to have a higher "steady state" voltage, it did not work. I spoke to VPI before deciding to sell the SDS I owned; I needed to add a resistor to my motor, even simply splicing .......

The Rogue Stealth is another good option, IMO. I have a Magnum version and it really sounds wonderful, has the adjustability too. A used one on Audiogon represents a good value, at least I think so. ( .......

I personally don't use a towel to wipe the LPs. After the cleaning round, I simply use a separate DD brush and rinse with distilled water several times. I then place the LP in a dish rack to dry. Sure .......

Get 2 brushes, one for cleaning and the other for rinsing with distilled water. Get the Miracle Record Cleaner. Also get 4 replacement pads, you'll go through pads early on until you get the technique .......

It's just the opposite. The vibration in the belt is coming off the platter and towards the motor pulley. Actually happens right before the pulley. Should I try your fix there? thanks .......

You should get 2 brushes, one for the DD liquid and another for a distilled water rinse. The rinsing is key, I sometimes go over the LP 3 times with distilled water, and then let rack dry. Sink water .......

LPs are pressed from the center out. Could be why there's more noise on some due to inferior pressing technique. IMO- you don't need an RCM. I use Disc Doctor brushes and solutions manually and my LPs .......

You could pop off the cover and make sure the transformer is sitting tight on it's spindle. Sometimes they're screwed into a threaded post and/or have a nut to hold them in tight. Worth checking out. .......

I too was getting premature wear. Few things I did to help; don't apply pressure, let the pad do the cleaning. Don't oversaturate the pad, and run your finger over it after each side to get off excess .......

You are correct, it's a UK pressing. Said so on the label on LP. "Her Majesty" is not listed on the jacket, but is on the record label. It's an EMI issue, BTW .......

The brushes consist of a rubber "handle" and the pads. The refills are only the pads. You reapply them to the handles. I've been using these now for about a month, along with their Miracle Record Clea .......

If you consider used I would look at either a Sumiko Blackbird or a Benz Glider H2. Both are 2.5 mV and 47K ohm so easy on the phono stage. If you need new how about a Sumiko Blue point spec evo III. .......

IMO- "Volunteers" is their best. I have the original LP as well as remastered CD. I like the CD best for sound. "Bless it's Pointed Little Head" is another live LP that sounds like crap too. Shame bec .......

I'll agree that the NAD C162 is a good choice given your parameters. I used to own one and it's a nice quiet preamp. Absolute Sound has recommended it too as great pre for under a grand. .......

I have cleaned about 60 LPs in a basin with dish soap and a splash of alcohol. They are playing like new. I'm going to use this method until the disc doc stuff arrives, but can't imagine the LPs playi .......

Another option for you to consider: Send in the Magnum 99 and have Mark O'Brian mod it for you. He did mine and the difference was dramatic. More air, resolution and a much lower noise floor. I'm not .......

I'm using one to wash the LPs in a warm water bath with a drop of dish detergent, and then using one to gently wipe after the distilled water rinse. My LPs have never sounded better. .......

Volvo Penta fully synthetic 30 weight. It keeps my boat engine going, must be OK for bearing. .......

Sorry if this has been covered before... but I was just given a collection that a friend owned. He accumulated these during the late '60s and 70's. There's about 250 LPs. They need a really good clean .......

I bought a used MMF-7 for $600. Added Herbies TT mat, the Pro-Ject Speed Box Mk II, and changed the cart from the stock Goldring Eroica (the weak link in Music Hall TT's, IMO) to a slightly used Benz .......
