too sharp sounding. Had that with a 440mla I sold and also a 150mlx. Just couldn't relax with it. Haven't heard the 540 or other new ones so maybe they've improved. My Grado Ref/Ref is the opposite of .......

Benz states a range of 500-47k for ohms. So right now i'm close to the 500 with 470. If I wanted 47k i'd have to set the phono stage to 4700k? (or remove the step up which wouldn't work) Or if I wante .......

Depending on the glue, it might creep to the clip and glue that in place also. If you were to glue it, remove the clip and sand/scrape off any extra glue afterwards to restore the contact surface. A r .......

I took apart the PH16 and flipped the left/right tubes, and did a quick visual inspection and all looked well. Got it hooked back up and had a slight ground hum on the right side. After some fiddling .......

I'm considering the motor to be the piece sticking out of the plastic body which the cantilever runs into. That part looks tilted from the body itself. I could be wrong calling that the motor. ::: TOP .......

If the phono pre box does MC, then it will have a built-in SUT for MC along with the normal gain for a MM cartridge. Which I always found odd, that you can get a nice phono preamp already with MC step .......

I don't see how AT can be grouped in with Grado. Those are the two most different sounding carts in my collection, and I lean heavily towards the Grados. The AT's definitely have the mid-high tilt and .......

Even if the photo was tilted, the stylus is still in reference to the body lines. Believe me I looked at this thing flipped every which way and the stylus is not in line. .......

Both photos would need to be off the same amount then, as the stylus is tilted in the same direction. It is difficult to capture this small of an area in a photo. It is more obvious when looking at it .......

I am actually looking at the stylus itself, which looks to be tilted. If it's not, that means it isn't mounted square in the cantilever. Yes maybe the motor is misaligned and the cantilever is in line .......

I have several of the Stanton/Technics headshells that I'm currently using, along with some other nicer ones. They work well but have lousy finger lifts. Not enough lip on the end to catch the finger .......

The difference between the square and diagonal to axis is 45 deg. I am assuming the 'diagonal' press fit mounting is correct for that particular stylus. Otherwise you are suggesting that it rotated 45 .......

I just finished gluing the frame for the amp to realize the screw holes fall just inside the edge instead of the center of the board. I'll need to glue a reinforcement piece along those inside edges s .......

Sub boxes are coming along nicely. Going to sand the outside seams as a couple panels that even after extreme effort..... just didn't line up perfectly. I was going to paint them with one of those fan .......

I'm working on the frame for the box i'm going to mount to the back of the sub. I found a very similar MDF at home depot and drilled a bunch of vent holes in the top and bottom pieces. Going to add a .......

if I preferred the less expensive cartridge I wouldn't admit it, because I would think it's something wrong with ME. That may be the case with my Grado Sonata over my Reference Reference......but I'm .......

I never heard either one actually. I just thought the turntable price would warrant a pricier cart. My only Ortofon experience is my OM30 Super which is pretty good. .......

I fear some of mine came from a few years of office cleaning a while back, using noisy vacuums day in and day out. I've gotten myself a Schiit Loki tone control to smooth out, ironically, some higher .......

The brain adapts doesn't really know what it's missing. The only issue is the difference between ears in stereo. If a frequency is 8-9khz, the left ear won't hear but the right ear will, so it will so .......

3 wood body Grados, Ortofon OM30 Super and a Denon 109. The Denon needed a new (replaceable)stylus and I knew that, so all my used purchases have been great! Get a WAY better value if you're willing .......

I never accepted that 'high VTF is ok' claim. Even if the stylus sits more properly in the groove, it's still hitting something somewhere at that force, and that equals wear. Unless you can alter phys .......

The amp is the Rythmik A370PEQ which is open except for the panel, normally to be mounted to the side/back of the enclosure I assume. I was going to vent the sides but the top/bottom is better? Don't .......

Build another box for the plate amp and keep it separate from the sub? This amp does have a pretty long-a$$ wire for the speaker connection. Makes sense, surprised some of the big names don't do this .......

I got a new stylus for my Denon 109 and it sounding AMAZING when I first listened, I was actually giddy. Hours later(don't remember how many) it go so annoyingly bright it was unlistenable, and I swit .......

I've built components with circuit boards and certainly have not gooped glue randomly on the panels. There is more glue in a couple of specific spots, but this area looks like it's been cooked. I don' .......

Both panels do have a clear dielectric coating in the center area which looks intentional, but the other one is clear of the burnt glue crap. Still have not heard back from the manufacturer....I thin .......
