To my (limited) understanding the 30.7 'for condos' is a hybrid, and in whatever stage of development it was, knowledgeable listeners weren't able to say enough good things about it. .......

I've blown fuses dozens of time on Tympani IV-As, but never damaged any part of the speaker. I used powerful enough amps (3 Brystons) driving them. Fuses were blown when I accidentally or forgetfully .......

I recall a common criticism of the quads was that they were "too polite". As I heard them new in a dealer's showroom 50 years ago I can't remember how they actually sounded, I do recall liking them. : .......

The ARC D-100(A) called the analog module was paired with 3/4 ohm Tympanis like the 1D and III-B. I believe the IIIA and IC (8 ohm Tympanis) were already or soon discontinued by the time of the D-100. .......

I used bridged ARC D-76As to drive my Tympani IC's back in the day of their first release (1975?). See now you heard about it. I even biamplified that IC using a ARC EC2A crossover and a GAS Ampzilla .......

I'm curious to know the reason(s) why you separated the mid/tweeter panel from the bass panels? For one reason, Magnepan's owner's manual separates them, but I don't (and apparently neither does Carda .......

That could all well be true. I owned a T-1C fairly soon after its release when there was no 1D. The 1D was 4/3 ohms, whereas the 1Cs was 8 ohms. One couldn't use (m)any of the 1C compatible amps on a .......

It surprised me mainly because Mr. Diller said Magnepan wasn't (ever) going to again make another Tympani sized loudspeaker because of the WAF, and the difficulty in selling their large model speakers .......

Forget about the 3.7/i. Stories circulated in the early days of the 3.6 as to why Magnepan was unwilling to provide Stereophile with a review sample. Reasons given that circulated were the same way ba .......
