The Audiolab 6000 CDT is excellent, even without considering its low price. It was a big improvement over my prior Mark Levinson/Proceed (I forgot the model but list price was $2,500 some 25 years ago .......

I recently returned a $75 Sangean (don't recall the model) and bought the Tivoli for twice the price. Very glad I did. The Sangean was nice and a fine value but I felt the sound was a bit too "dark" - .......

Regarding connectors or adapters, you certainly lose something, though it may not be that much (e.g. 5% or so) but it is still noticeable in a revealing system, esp. with the revealing Nordost cables. .......

I also have the T9090II. The narrow and supernarrow settings work beautifully with no additional noise. Of course, using these settings produces a lower quality sound versus not using them but its not .......

Sure, you can use the maggie 1.5's just like any magnepan. I use my 1.5's just as 2 channel stereo, with the tv, dvd, vcr run through the system. Fabulous, since the maggies have such a big soundstage .......
