Thanks everyone, problem solved! The MYDAC on the back has 2 settings Audio Class 1.0 and 2.0, it was set on 2.0 which apparently is incorrect. Nice sounding DAC :-) .......

Thanks, I have some FLAC files downloaded from HDTRACKS that are suppose to be 24/96. I find it strange that the file size is similar to 16bit wave file. Shouldn't higher resolution result in bigger f .......

I would say you are guilty of assuming. Common terms used are 1st pressing and original pressing, even 1st pressing can be subjective: for example Pink Floyds UK Wall pressing mixed stampers from 2U t .......

Sorry but the originals aren't always better. The Friday Music version of Little Queen is better than the US original, Cdn original and CBS half-speed. It's a title I spin every now and then so I don' .......

BINGO, it worked! It is labeled as MON (not tape in) on my pre, the MON and TAPE OUT inputs have a box around the inputs on the back of my pre. I guess this means they commonly grounded? THANKS! ::: T .......

Connecting both ICs resolved the ground issue but when I record the dynamics get sucked out of the music on playback. They seem to record OK when I playback the CD. I suspect there is an audio loop go .......

Looks like all of the IC cables need to be connected for the CDP to be properly grounded to the pre. The record in and play out both have to be connected to the tape out and CD in on the pre. Nothing .......

I have used a circular file and changed the size or shape of the hole. Requires the LP to be adjusted on the platter so it spins correct. Works fine just requires a little work aligning the record. :: .......

Your TT is the foundation for the cartridge. Try putting an high quality cartridge in the equation and you should hear huge differences. .......

One of the major reasons was the major labels saw opportunity in the vinyl market and didn't want to pass this opportunity on to the smaller audiophile companies. Classic needed a major catologue like .......

I just replaced the rectifier tube in my Modwright SWLP and am shocked with the results. I put in a Mullard tube, sonically much better! but I now have a buzz in my pre that is audible if I'm within 3 .......

Try different loadings and get a MintLP protractor for your setup it can make a huge difference in the performance of the cartridge. I moved from the Karat -> XX2 MkII -> XV-1s. I also tried a Maestro .......

I would recommend buying quality. You are better off putting time into investigating what you might like and buy 2 $30LPs than have 3 $20 lower quality versions. I would rather have 2 MM titles at $50 .......

Try the Russ Andrews Dyna pack power supply. It made a huge difference on my P75MkII. I also have mine plugged into a PS Audio power conditioner and again a significant improvement. .......

I had the same problem and discovered you need a RCM to get the DD residue off the LP otherwise the LPs in some cases can sound worse. Even with a RCM it didn't work 100% of the time. The idea of clea .......

Another issue I forgot to mention was the antiskate. If you read the SPU instructions they state the antiskate needs to be 1.5 times higher than normal because the stylus type. I had to add weight to .......

I run mine with a P75 MkII. It should sound dynamic, fast but with a full body. It shouldn't be bright. Maybe it's an issue with your phono amp? matching is important and will effect the overall balan .......

In general UK pressings are king! German can be good but not as consistently good as the UK. The UK pressings strike a wonderful balance between dynamics, color tone with a tunefully tight full bass. .......

I prefer the mono mixes over the sterio on the earlier albums and the sterio mix on Sgt Peppers and the White album. The sterio mix seems to have noise added to the signal to enhance instruments givin .......

I have a few Wishbone UK pressings which are stunning. Their 1st, Argus and Pilgrimage. UK pressings can be stunning! they get the bass right. The Brits were the best at pressing LPs IMO .......

In general UK pressings are better if the british engineers received a good quality tape. They were better at mastering and pressing IMO. Sometimes the differences are stunning. .......

With the Nautilus pressing aren't you just comparing 2 different digital masterings? If I recall correct Nautilus are digitally mastered. Compare it to a UK original and you might not get the same res .......

The blue box issues are similar to later UK reissues. The originals are much better in every way. Even 2nd or 3rd pressings of the earlier Parlophone titles sound great so you don't need to pay big $$ .......

Go to UK e-bay and do a search. Look through the listings and you will see different pictures of the labels. The early/original pressings look different from the reissues. Good Luck! .......

UK originals are the best. Get Madman as well. The balance of the vocal and orchestra is amazing. Strings are lush, rich, deep and work great in contrast to his raspy voice. .......

The BC-13 box set is good, better than the US and Cdn originals. I haven't heard the MFSL versions so I can't comment. I have moved off my BC-13 set and have been buying UK originals with the exeption .......

I'm using this with my Naim ARO and it sounds fantastic. It replaced a Dynavector XX2. The XX2 emphasised the decay of the notes which throws the base off (too soft) IMO. The SPU is much more lively, .......

The long scew probably effeceted the grounding of the cartridge. I had a grounding issue with my Ortofon SPU and Naim ARO and I had to play around with different ways of grounding the static. ::: TOPI .......

I compared a 70's German pressing, 1st German pressing and the UK blue box. The 70s German reissue is almost 100% like the blue box. The German 1st pressings is miles ahead and it's obvious in charact .......

The SC set sounds better, much better if you have a good setup. It has a fuller more fluid sound. I used to own the double LP sets but replaced it with the SC set. It's worth the price if the material .......

My UK pressing is much better than the Cdn or US pressing. The Cdn and US pressing sound strained, the UK has a more relaxed feel and is very fluid sounding. .......

I'm a reseller and constantly compare pressings and in general (very general) it's the original pressing in the country of origin. Regarding reissues German and UK pressings seem to be consistenty bet .......

Your observation kind of mirrors mine experience. I have a Naim ARO arm which is a unipivot arm. Whenever I put the needle down on the LP or something makes the arm move during playback the arm swings .......

Agree, it's a synergy thing but I suspect alot of the character differences between the two TTs must remain (regardless of the RB1000) as the structural designs are very different. .......

I just burn the music onto a CDRW if I make a mistake on a song than I add it on the end or onto a seperate CDRW and remix the music onto a CDR. The mixing to the CDR can be done when you listen to so .......

I scored this LP on the weekend and suspect it's worth some $$$. It's an English pressing SB-2059. The US equivalent is LSC-2241. Does anyone know what this might be worth? The LP is in NM condition. .......

This LP is actually a good title for how your system resolves bass and is one of the LPs I use when testing my system. .......

The Holland pressings are on a NEMS label and the English pressings are on Vertigo (Some black labels others orange). Any info on the NEMS label? They sound very good. Thanks .......
