I think it is impossible to generalize as to whether an SACD or a 24/96 PCM file of the same recording will sound better. I would first want to know how the music was recorded. Was it recorded in DSD? .......

Umm, having owned the W4S DAC-2 as well as numerous DAC's that are limited to 48/16 on USB, I do not believe that a MYDAC2's 48kHz/16bit USB input could "slaughter" the W4S DAC-2's 24-bit 192kHz async .......

Agreed, Abe, W4S is a stand-up company IMO. Like you, I owned the original DAC-2 (I got a show demo at RMAF 2011) but eventually sold it on the used market. I then used the digital inputs on my Denon .......

I had a problem similar to yours with "Let it Bleed" on my SCD-777ES, but no problem with "Beggars Banquet." Both discs state that they were made in Germany. I powered down the 777ES, powered it back .......

I wonder why the PH3SE clipped with the Dyna 20X-H. I just acquired a PH3, which has the same gain as the PH3SE, and I haven't experienced any clipping with my Dynavector 10x4 Mk. II. .......
