I would tend to agree - the design is pretty old school and though the parts used were decent quality there certainly is room for improvement. FWIW, I used Hammond 1627SE output iron, audio grade caps .......

Not to worry, I remember enough of my amp's schematics to know that's a no-no. Way big difference in the B+ between the 6SL7 stage and the 2A3 output stage. I might upgrade the caps at some point thou .......

Hi Fliz; For an amp, I'd suggest you take a look at either the Wave 8 monoblocks from ASL or the Jolida 102. You'll need to either build or buy a volume control/source switcher with the Wave 8 monoblo .......

Very nice little source/amp combo you've got there! With 25 watts to play with, you might need more power handling that you'll get with the FF85K's - unless you buy enough to put a pair of 'em in each .......
