I have this amp. Maybe you've already figured this out, but the 1/4" plug is mono. The (+) center terminal is connected to the (+) lead on your ampmeter. The (-) outer terminal to the (-) meter lead. .......

They both have generous return policies (45 days for the Omega's). How are your Paradox 1's working with the ASL's? I know my 2A3's don't make 8 watts, but what are some of the strengths and weaknesse .......

AES will add a headphone output (with toggle switch) to their kits or factory built units (as will Cary). I'm using a AE-3 DJH preamp with a headphone output into Sennheiser 600's. Makes great music. .......

OK. The behavior definitely follows the tube. This is a very clean (new-appearing) tube with straight, clean pins. I retested it on my Hickok 533A - passed gas and short tests. Each half has high Gm. .......

Thanks. I didn't think of the socket because this amp is only a year old and none of my other 6SL7's did this in that socket. I think this behavior followed the tube when I was swapping tubes to find .......

I have a NOS GE 6SL7 that "went scratchy" after little use. I noticed that channel sounded crappy and isolated the problem to that tube (amp input tube). It makes the scratchy noise whenever I wiggle .......

Right out of the box, it beats my previous preamp (12AX7 design ala SoundValve) hands down in terms of lack of listener fatigue. It's still burning-in, so I expect things will improve over the first w .......

That's what I was wondering. What does a short look like? Does the lamp glow as brightly as during a filament continuity test? Also, is there an easy way to calibrate for mutual conductance on the 533 .......
