The one I'm talking about is the JJ E83CC. It is a frame grid type tube modeled after the Tesla E88CC. JJ makes about 10 different types of 12ax7/ECC83/5751. I have not tried the other types so I can' .......

Fortunately the JJ tubes I have tried recently are very good. Their E83CC is one of the best 12ax7 types I have heard (and I have most of the best NOS versions) and I just picked up a quad of JJ KT88 .......

I have the Hanna SL. It has served in a back up role mainly for a Lyra Delos and AT Art9xi. Last time I traded the Delos in for a new one, before I got the 9xi I played the Hana for about three months .......

The rare long plates and triple mica are great tubes, but the regular short plate Siemens with the double getter holder is one of the best for a fast, detailed sound with good slam. That is what I am .......

5751 has a lower Mu than 12ax7, that is not the same as lower gain. I use 5751 often in place of 12ax7 in the input stage of my Rogue amp. I have never noticed any group in gain for the substitution. .......

Does it have to be KT88? Not familiar with your amp, but many KT88 amps can use KT66 if you lower the bias to the tube. Now that is a tube with much better treble in my opinion. Pretty good everything .......

I use 6L6gc with no problems in my Stereo 90. Just set the bias meter at 30ma rather than 35ma for KT88. I quite like the sound of vintage G.E. 6L6GC or the Russian 6P3C-E in the amp. KT66 is my go to .......

The 500 mega ohm is a resistor NOT the fuse! Very difficult to source these days, that is probably the only part you won't need to change. The fuse is a glass or ceramic fuse. Not sure about your spea .......

If your Cronos Magnum operates the same as my Stereo 90 (and I think the amp sections are very similar), you bias KT120/KT90/KT88 at 35ma on the built in meter, and bias KT66/EL34/KT77/6L6gc at 30 ma. .......

Agree with most of the above comments on tube rolling. I own the Stereo 90 which is a very similar amp to the Chronus. The Penta Labs KT88SC are a great tube in the Rogues. They are now being produced .......

I don't have a SET amp, but often configure my Rogue Stereo 90 with less powerful tubes like 6L6 or Kt66 as opposed to KT88 or KT120 and run them in triode. KT66 run in triode produces about 30 or 35 .......

The upper bass "bloat" is there to some degree in my Rogue amp with any KT88 I have tried but disappears with any KT66/6L6 I have used. Maybe "bloat" is the wrong word, it is more a thickness in the s .......

They all make a difference, but I would say the first gain stage/input tube which in your case would be the 12ax7s. I would experiment with the small signal 12ax7s and 12au7s first. Cheaper than rolli .......

If you have to send it to a tech, have the coupling and output caps upgraded (I used Vcaps in my SP14) . The tubes in the SP9 are for the phono stage, if that is important to you use the best you can .......

That is the grey plate GE 5751. Try and find the GE black plate version from the 1950s they are much better IMO, although the one you got is still a fine tube. Enjoy the roll! .......

NOS (and new testing OS) small signal tubes are still readily available and in general sound better, last longer and are built better than current new production. In most cases the difference in cost .......

I use a SP 14. I upgraded the coupling caps (.47 I believe) to V-Caps Teflon and the difference was major. A great upgrade for vintage ARC pre-amps. .......

If you want great sound AND quiet, try a Telefunken E88CC. Not cheap, but neither are GLs that last 3 months. Still widely available NOS from places like thetubestore or Upscale audio. .......

Can't comment on the Pisvanes, but in my amp the Black Treasure 6CA7 are the best sounding EL34/6CA7 type I have heard. I have tried EH6ca7, JJKT77 (very good sounding variant and cheap), Shuguang EL3 .......

Russian 6P3S-E might be worth a try, I believe the heater current is lower than KT66 and they are equivalent to 6L6gc. In my amp they have a sweet but linear midrange and extended but smooth top end. .......
