You might get that octave of base by aiming the woofers towards the walls, and closer to the side walls. Then aim the drivers at the listening chair. Then BAM. Or not, who knows. That's what worked in .......

Is it more likely to be damaged if it hits the clamp? I often listen without a clamp but lately I've been using one and I can see where the stylus would hit. I have 3 records where I know this occurs .......

The Eroica cartridge on my table was sibilant also. I was never able to get rid of it. Adjusting my VTA and VTF did not get rid of it. The VTA adjustments changed the sound but not the sibilance. And .......

My turntable came with a hexhead wrench that while not super easy to work with, works nonetheless. I have adjusted the VTA multiple times and suggest doing so. That's why you have a TT with VTA adjust .......
