Sounds like a good plan to me, and I agree with your objective to retain the stock look. Please keep us posted with pictures and updates! .......

With my MMGs, a SVS PC39+ sub and a Denon 2000IVR integrated amp, I am feeding the MMGs full signal from the amp and have the the sub crossover set at around 55hz. According to my test tone CD and db .......

My 1.4s (which I am still looking for a home for) are black with oak trim. My MMGs are gray with oak trim. The black IMO looks great when new but gets shabby looking quickly. .......

I haven't posted in a while because right after I received my MMGs a few months ago (after using MG-1.4s for 17 years), we began renovations in our home and I had to take the system down. I only had a .......

My older MG 1.4s sound better in some ways than the MMGs, so I'm sure the same holds true for the 1.6s. But the 1.4's can't hold a candle to my MMG/SVS PC+39 subwoofer combo. Other than the obvious be .......

My 1.4s sounded fine in a 14 X 14 room that I had them in. The point is that going from MMGs to a larger model as the OP is considering doing may not be the best bang for the buck for the smaller room .......

I think the MMGs will work just fine in that size room. I'm using mine with a SVS 20-39 PC+ powered subwoofer and the combo sounds absolutely awesome. Compared to my MG-1.4s alone, there is absolutely .......

Since I am sending full signal from my stereo pre-amp outputs, I'm using the crossover on the sub. The MMGs ae currently being fed full signal. For the 1.4s, I found a dial setting of 45 hz sounded ab .......

Since I am sending full signal from my stereo pre-amp outputs, I'm using the crossover on the sub. For the 1.4s, I found a dial setting of 45 hz sounded about right. For the MMGs, I have it set at 70 .......

Here is a link to the SVS sub I am using; http://www.svsound.com/products-sub-cyl-plpow2.cfm It is probably overkill in terms of the SPL it can generate, but its sonic quality is outstanding and compl .......

That makes sense. The difference in tweeter construction - wire in the 1.4 vs. ribbon in the MMG - is visibale through the covers and readily disguishable in listening. I just need an empty house more .......

Hello to all, this is my first post on this board. I have recently updated my 2-channel system and thought I would share my initial impressions with you. I was using a set of Maggie 1.4s since 1989, p .......
