What is a better solution to drive GM70/211 tube also in A2? 300B (350V, 60ma) with LL1677 (1:2) or AV8 (350V, 30mA) and LL1660/30mA (1:1.125)? THe whole system is: AV8 - IT 1:1 - 300B - IT 1:2 (1677) .......

Hi, I can choose between: 1. 300B(60mA, 350V) and 1:2 IT 2. AV8 (30mA, 350V) and 1:1.125 IT gain is about the same. AV8 has the Rp=1400, 300B Rp=650ohm. Maciej .......

Hi, You can't use 5842 or 6C45p with LL1660/10mA and 1:1.125 ratio, because you need at least 15-20mA of the current to use them properly. LL1660/18mA or LL1660/30mA (excelent for 6C45p) is a good bet .......

The bigger the gap the lower the primary inductance. For 6c45 it doesn't matter, because it has a very low Rp, so you will not have the problem with the lower frequencies cut off. Getting the 30mA ver .......
