I have had good luck with the EH EL34s in triode mode. The EH EL34s have the midrange you are looking for with a little more lively presentation. .......

I checked with Cary before using the 6cg7 and they told me the tubes would work fine, but with just a bit less gain. The good and bad thing about the Cary is that it can keep you busy for years with .......

I have been rolling tubes in the SLI-80 for the past 5 years and have settled in on EH EL-34s for quite a while. They seem to have a bit more of the top end sparkle that other EL-34s didn't have and s .......

In my SLI80 I have used the EH 6sn7, along with the EI 6dj8 in combo with EH kt88 with good results. All the punch and dynamics but smoother then the stock tubes, and all these tubes are now in produc .......

I have a 3 record set of the Nat King Cole Trio from 1947. It is the trio playing childrens songs and is in VG++ shape. I have never seen these songs recorded by Nat anywhere else, or had a chance to .......

I just upgraded from a low output Sonata to a low output Master and the sound is thin and compressed. The Grado mid sound is still there but the extremes are gone. I used the HIFI setup record and 2 p .......

The Ei 6922s are pretty good tubes in the Sli 80. I have tried Telefunken, Siemens, many different flavors of Amprex, Mullards, and I am sure some others. The Ei 6922s hold up pretty well to the NOS c .......

I purchased the Thorens and a NOS Koss ESP 9 electrostatic system for $145.00 total. I passed on a NOS Thorens TD 115. That went for $35.00 There was also some unassembled Dynaco solid state kits. ::: .......

The earlier shearwaters did not have the back of the speaker finished off, that is the side I had custom finished in veneer. I do not believe the bottom is finished on any of the shearwaters. But how .......

The earlier Shearwaters were only finished on 3 sides with a black back. I believe that the new Shearwaters (after the move east) are finished on all sides. I had to special order mine 2 years ago wit .......

I have tried the KT90in my SLI 80. I found it to be very flat and uninvolving. I tried the bias adjustments at 75, then tried 85, and 95. All with the same results. The same tubes sounded great in my .......
