Generally, I will always favor nude diamond vs bonded. Lower tip mass allows for better tracking. Sibilance in muted horns, piano, or close miked vocals (think Joe Cocker or Louis Armstrong) are major .......

I wouldn't use a metal or hard plastic washer for fear of damage to the record. When I lost my washer (I think it stuck to a record and made its way back into a record sleeve undetected), I found one .......

I had an older rb300 oem arm I replaced in favor of a jelco variant. The Jelco killed the rega. Much better clarity with the Jelco. A soundsmith retip of your denon might also give you the cartridge .......

You are limited to a 9" arm on the systemdek, unless you do extensive diy mods to the table, so you need the sa-750D. Ebay has systemdek armboards for the 750D that will give you the correct mounting .......

What phono pre are you using, and what settings for the pre? My Zephyr mkII isn't loud in the groove at all, so I suspect some kind of defect. Maybe your vinyl has suffered from previous cartridges - .......

The eagle (and VPI SDS) will drop the voltage after initial start up, in order to reduce motor vibration. I'm not sure that the PS10 has that capability, but doubt if it is automatic even if you could .......

I always give my belt drive (and belt/idler drive) tables a gentle spin, and then turn them on, to give them a little help at start up. I believe this really reduces the stress on the motor and belt. .......

I have an LT-22, and enjoy it with both a Shure V15-V MR and Ortofon 2M Blue, although if pressed I prefer the 2M Blue. I think the LT-22 is a tad dark and can tend to slowness in the bass which the 2 .......

You should be able to set the alignment on the null point of whatever protractor you have. If it is really a zero tracking error arm, it will then produce zero error along its entire arc. .......

Any debris that has collected on the velvet can cause harm to the record. I think the debris is more likley to cause damage when the record is dry, because it is making direct contact with the record .......

The noise might be from the bottom of the bearing rubbing against the sub-chassis. This is definitely possible if you have not sufficiently tightened the bearing spindle into the bottom of the sub-cha .......

I use the Cardas clips which are available from Parts Connexion for under $5 for a set of four. I use to trim them, but I like them longer to give something more substantial to grab on to when changin .......

I have adjusted the bearings of a Thorens TP-16, and it isn't rocket science: too loose and there is play, too tight and it binds. But posts and articles I have read indicate the bearings of an RB-300 .......

BTW, The Mobile Fidelity Geodisc is a one point system does not require movement of the arm, as is the rega supplied protractor (rega only, however). .......

The Hadcock bearing, anti-skate and stylus contact point are not close to being in the same horizontal plane. That seems like a good idea, but impractical since cartridges don't have a standard heigh .......

The Hadcock gh228 is a unipivot with the string and weight method of anti-skating. For a unipivot, the string must pull on the arm only in the same horizontal plane containing the point of the bearing .......

Tubes, I used Cardas 4x33 shielded cable from parts connexion. Based on Garth's recommendation, I used the Deltron Mouser Part #174-3465, Manufacturer Part # 346-0500 RED. I'm very happy with the RCA .......

What kind of tests did you do with the wiring? Just changing the rcas around won't change phasing. Try reversing the leads on one channel at the cartridge by interchangeing the blue and white cartridg .......

I use a TD125 with an RB300, and I think it is a good match. Other low cost options include Sumiko MMT and Audioquest PT4. I think the mayware unipivot would work well, too. I don't think the arm is .......

I'm not sure if the Orbe is put together the same way as my Gyro SE, but make sure the bearing is connected well to the spider, otherwise the bearing will rub on the top of the spider. Mine loosened u .......
