IMO don't insist on an integrated with a top notch mc gain stage. A great phono stage can be had for under a grand, you severely limit yourself when a mc stage is a necessity. Arcam sr250 with Dirac .......

Room acoustics and proper speaker placement are the most overlooked, underappreciated and underinvested elements of the hobby IMO. Nothing else will come close to having as much of an impact on sound, .......

Once you have roon setup, go to settings, audio and enable the uR. It will need to be plugged into your dac and active in order to show up. Once this is done, then the rest should be self explanatory .......

I had a very positive experience with the 8004, the prior generation Marantz. Well built, phono was excellent in my opinion, and it was very transparent with Gallo Strada speakers which resolve well. .......

I think the answer depends on room size, listening habits and wether you have the 1.7 or 3.7. I can tell you that in a medium sized room playing orchestra music at high spl the 1.7 does significantly .......

Having the speakers raised probably works pretty well? The one thing I lack is realistic image height, I think this is a big challenge for most setups. I would love to be able to raise my speakers but .......

Thanks, based on your review I did try and flip flop polarity and there was more focus with the standard configuration, but I may try it again for a longer period and make sure that still sticks. .......

I am working in a pair of stradas now that I am using on the desktop. I have found that toe in is critical, even a 1/8 of an inch can make a huge difference. That is a super nice looking rig you have. .......

You could look at monitors with ribbon tweets too. Eminent TEchnology makes a great sounding speaker lft-8 I think it is. 3 way- "airiest" speakers I have ever heard. .......

The mini can sleep or be left on all the time so there is no boot-up time. Keep in mind these are both computers at the end of the day. One is flexible one isnt. .......

Here is how I would proceed; Transfer a CD onto the ATVs internal drive. Then play the songs on the ATV locally and see if you get the crackling. If you do than it is most likely the toslink cable. Yo .......

Right- they are not really "active"- they are "self-powered" with an onboard amplifier that powers both drivers through a passive XO. That is my understanding at least. I think most audiophiles would .......

Maybe not "have to" but it makes a lot of sense. A good active studio monitor will provide the dynamics you want in a small package. A lot of these will go way over 100db without any hint of compressi .......
